On my recent trip to Key West, I got the opportunity to spend a week in the islands. I have already covered the Top things to do in Key West in my recent blog. But the nightlife stood out to me as it was unlike anything I had seen while I was backpacking across Florida. If you are looking for Top Bars in Key West for Nightlife, Cocktails, and Live Music, then this list is perfect. I took my time exploring most of these places and found the best bars in Key West that you won’t want to miss. 

Before we get started, let me say that Key West’s nightlife is not just lovely but also incredibly enjoyable and laid back. For the most part, you can just walk in and don’t always have to adhere to a dress code. Since I was traveling by bike and didn’t have time to change into beautiful clothes, this was something I truly liked. Additionally, the majority of Key West’s bars are conveniently located near Duval Street.

This relaxed, waterfront pub is undoubtedly one of the best in Key West. Along with some unusual drinks like mojitos and rum punch, you can take in a tranquil view of the ocean. The Saint Hotel Rooftop Bar

An upscale vibe, more on the luxurious side. So if you are looking for an intimate sit-down, date night thing, then this is perfect. Of course, this place has a rooftop with scenic ocean views. Here you can try the classic Espresso martini. 

Hogfish Bar & Grill

It’s a little outside of Key West, but well worth it. You could also give this a try if you are bar hopping . There will be live music, delicious seafood, and refreshing local beer to savor while taking in the ocean wind.  The furnishings are rustic and have an aged wood vibe. 


Irish Kevin’s Bar

This is the spot for you if you enjoy going out to parties. For an all-night party, this is one of Best bars in Key West.  You won’t be able to remain still given the crushing intensity of this bar. Remember to have Irish whiskey and Guinness. It was, after all, my particular favorite.

This is one of the oldest bars in Key West. Make sure to grab the house rum and the cold beer as well. The interiors in here are slightly eerie with Dollar bills, license plates, and old relics.

If you are looking for something local and not so touristy, then people around will always recommend the Green Parrot Bar. It’s laidback with artsy interiors, along with live music and a great crowd. Get simple cocktails here and just relax. 

Rum Bar at Speakeasy Inn

If you want to unwind and slow down after all the partying, here is the place to go. As soon as you enter, you are transported to a realm of Rum. For all rum lovers, this is the place to be. The interiors feature a classic Caribbean vibe and a nostalgic appeal.

This is constantly bustling with people, while being somewhat underrated. Along with some equally delicious seafood, this establishment serves fantastic drinks including mojitos and tuna punch. This location features an outside patio with music playing to create a positive atmosphere.

Everyone knows a Hard Rock cafe, music with food and drinks. A combo that never disappoints. You will get to hear rock here as usual; it’s like finding a comfort spot in a new place. Where you know you will find something you like. 

Rick’s Bar Complex

This place is unique and one of a kind. Think of a multi-story club where you can just choose what you like and stay. There’s a DJ with a dance floor and classic drink options. This is definitely the kind of place where you meet new people.

Raw and authentic, this old school dive bar in Key West is no less than iconic. You get cheap beer here, and all the locals hang out here often.

This place is quirky and unforgettable, they offer unique frozen drinks that you will not find anywhere else on the island. That is what they are famous for. The place is Funky with neon lights shining all along.
