Thinking about all the delicious food I had in Dallas this time around already makes my mouth water. This was my second visit to the city, and I made it a point to explore the best restaurants in Dallas. Experiencing a city through its food gives you a completely different perspective, one you might otherwise miss while rushing to check off all the typical touristy attractions on your bucket list.
So, did I come back to Dallas just to try the food? Honestly… yes.
It might be hard to believe, but after returning from my Dallas trip in 2024, I couldn’t stop thinking about the food scene there. My Instagram feed was suddenly full of new restaurant openings, local food spots, and dishes that looked too good to ignore. Before I knew it, Dallas was everywhere on my screen, and I knew I had to come back and experience more of what the city’s dining scene had to offer.

Believe me, when I can, it is not easy to pick out the Best Restaurants in The Dalles, Oregon. I found myself with a food journal, writing down everything like a food critic. I am sure people were staring at me, but. Anyway, I was immersed in the food and loved every bit of it. Here is my list of the best restaurants in Dallas.
Pecan Lodge
Have you ever wondered where Tom Cruise ate in Dallas? Pecan Lodge is the place. One of the most popular restaurants in the city that serves mind-blowing barbecue Located in Deep Ellum.
The whole vibe is super energizing in here, and the brisket is Iconic. A great mix of the local crowd with amazing food.
Recommendations: Brisket, Beef ribs, and Banana Pudding.
Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse
You cannot just walk into this restaurant; you will need reservations and a business casual outfit. So naturally, this place is great for a nice sit-down date night, where you can just talk and enjoy your food. This steakhouse has to be in your list of restaurants in the dalles which you must visit.
Recommendations: Steak (of course), crab cake, potatoes au gratin, lobster mac and cheese, and Red Velvet Cake.
Lucia
This beauty is located in the Bishop Arts District and has been running successfully for 15 years now. This hidden gem offers Italian food with handmade pasta. I really had to get my way through the reservation, and I also kept calling them weeks in advance. A must-try if you are looking for a change from typical Dallas food. Heads Up- Expect a longer wait time than usual.
Recommendations:- Chef’s meat board, any pasta, roasted beet risotto, and pistachio and honey tart.
Uchi Dallas
Located on Maple Ave, Uchi Dallas is one of the best restaurants in Dallas to serve Sushi. I mean, Sushi in Dallas wasn’t the combination I was expecting to love. A sleek and luxurious restaurant that offers Japanese cuisine and some highly recommended seafood. Make sure to make your reservations well in advance.
Recommendations: Sashimi, Crunchy spicy salmon, Oyster on ice, Wagyu Beef and spicy Tuna Roll.
Fun Restaurants in Dallas
Truck Yard
Just another food truck, not really. A compound with a bunch of different food trucks, outdoor seating, live music, and just pure vibes. This place is great for interacting and finding new people in the city. Like a true local, enjoy these backyard themed food trucks with some lip-smacking food. Personally, this place really felt lively and seemed so chill. I felt like living in the city and coming out here to hang out with friends.
Recommendations: Nachos, Hot Dog, House Philly Cheesesteaks, and Tacos from the food truck pizza.
The Rustic
Enjoy Texas comfort food and American cuisine. With rustic decor, this place offers both indoor and outdoor seating. A place loved by tourists and locals, located at Howell St. This place has to be one of the most Fun restaurants in Dallas. You can find parking here quite easily, so that won’t be a problem.
Recommendations: Texas wagyu burger, Fried chicken, Margaritas and onion rings,
Ida Claire
This is a unique restaurant in Dallas, and they offer Southern cuisine. They offer private dining rooms that are super interesting, with art and print everywhere. This place felt perfect for a brunch. What I loved was that they put their own twist on common dishes. The interior itself makes it one of the best Fun restaurants in Dallas.
Recommendations: French toast, Country Breakfast, Nashville chicken, and Ida biscuits.
Katy Trail Ice House
One of the largest patios in Dallas, you will find beer on tap here. Soothing and super chill place. Katy Trail is pet-friendly, and you can just walk in at any time of the day.

Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill
This American steakhouse has legit portions. I was actually overwhelmed by the quantity that was served. Known for its wood-grilled steaks and seafood.
Recommendation: Steak, Ribs, and adult mac and cheese
Rise No.1
Craving French food in Dallas, this Rise No.1 offers an old-world charm, being one of the Best restaurants in North Dallas. Very popular for its Souffles both sweet and savory. So that is a must-try.

Neighborhood Services
Located on Oak Lawn Avenue, this is a laidback spot. We stepped in for lunch here, and this place did not disappoint.
Recommendations: Steak Fries, Crispy Asparagus, and Lobster Nachos

You would never expect Dallas to serve such amazing Pan-Asian Cuisine. Asian Mint is a Thai place which offers aromatic and fresh food.

True Food Kitchen
There are plenty of healthy restaurants in Dallas and after all the crazy food experience, I wanted something light yet energizing. Best part, everything here is made with seasonal ingredients.
Recommendations: Ancient grains bowl and Kale salad
Flower Child
One of my favorite healthy spots in Dallas, located in multiple locations, we visited the one at Cedar Springs Rd.
Recommendations: Mother Earth bowl and Avocado toast
Final Thoughts
What stood out most to me was how the dining scene blends food, nightlife, and culture. One night, I was eating an incredible BBQ in Deep Ellum surrounded by live music venues, and the next night, I was enjoying sushi in a sleek upscale restaurant.
If you enjoy exploring different cuisines and vibrant dining environments, Dallas is definitely worth visiting just for the food.
